The Department of Climate Change, with the coordination, support and assistance in climate change mitigation initiatives working towards curbing GHG Emissions. The mitigation looks into:

1. Contributing to drafting of Departmental Reports to promote effective mitigation responses
2. Support Research into mitigation in Vanuatu
3. Facilitating the provision of the Departments mitigation advisory services
4. CCA/DRM messaging – mitigation messages and priorities are mainstreamed into national policies, plans, strategies, reports and didactic materials
5. Support provision of mitigation materials
6. Promote gathering and awareness program on traditional mitigation and coping practices
7. Coordinating and Facilitating the Mitigation Technical Working Group
8. Assisting and supporting Key Climate Change mitigation stakeholders to effect national obligations
